Il seguente testo , apparso in un recente bollettino scritto da un OM tedesco , e' stato tradotto e interpretato meglio che si poteva consultando il relativo schema elettrico. Le modifiche suggerite non sono state testate dal sottoscritto che comunque si accinge ad eseguirle sul proprio apparecchio TM441E. Dopo di cio' inviero' un altro bollettino che possa chiarire meglio il testo che segue . Lino IK3NGU @ I3XTY ----------------------------------------------------------- Modifica del Kenwood TM441E per operazioni a 9600 baud Ho provato il Kenwood TM441 con il modem DF9IC della Baycom. Il segnale RX-NF e' situato sul pin 6 della presa microfonica direttamente dal discriminatore. Per chi si accinge ad eseguire le modifiche qui descritte attenzione! : lo schema elettrico e' sbagliato. Ho realizzato una presa posteriore con tutte le funzioni necessarie solo per le operazioni a 9600 baud. Per fare cio' e' necessario intervenire sulla parte inferiore dell'apparecchio. Attenzione pero': chi sperimentalmente sta cercando di modificare l' apparecchio prelevando il segnale sul pin 6 della presa microfonica sul connettore CN3 , puo' cercare a lungo! tra l' altro , diversamente dallo schema , si trova una resistenza di tipo SMD da 1 KOhm sul lato inferiore della piastra madre; percio' non cercate e non disperate per l' apparecchio. Quindi ho aggiornato lo schema prelevando il segnale sul pin 9 della presa CN3 . Dunque il punto esatto di prelievo del segnale RX e' dietro la resistenza di 1 KOhm. Veniamo ora alla presaTX-NF. Questa e' stata effettuata dietro il potenziometro (Hub-Poti max dev 47 K) e dietro C53. Sul modem DF9IC non si usano rele' o transistori "inferiori". Si provvede a cio' solo per mezzo di ponticelli sul modem in modo tale che nessun segnale NF presente sul ricevitore arrivi sul PLL . Per l'accoppiamento della stessa tensione ho inserito un condensatore da 470 nF. La modifica del PTT non' e' necessaria in quanto si puo' lasciare direttamente sulla presa microfonica. Forse e' ancora necessario raccomandare questo collegamento crudo: successivamente si avra' la possibilita' di portare i segnali sul pannello frontale , magari senza effettuare saldature ! As he says it really is simple. I was up and running with the Baycom USCC card in just a few minuites, however as the radio requires switched audio, J305 on the USCC card must be in position 2-3. Modifying the kenwood tm441a for 9600 baud operation by Larry Story, WB5CQU ROSE address 817491 ---------------------------------------------------- This mod has been performed on the tm441a kenwood 440 mhz radio with good results. It is a very simple mod and should be completed in just a few minutes. The radios that were modified are used in a ROSE switch application running 9600 baud. TXaudio ------- Looking at the schematic diagram for the tm441a,find circuit board pll(x58-3480-00) (b/2). It is located in the top left of the diagram. Notice on the right side of the board diagram that a heavy line is indicated comming from the deviaton pot (r82). It is the first pin from the top of the diagram on the right side of the circuit board diagram. Connect a fine shielded cable to this pin on the back side of the radio circuit board. This is the tap point for the varactor modulator. RXaudio ------- Looking at the schematic diagram again for the tm441a, find a circuit board called (ic1 fm if hic). It is located on the bottom center of the diagram. Pin #12 is labled (det). This is the tap point for the RXaudio. Use a fine shielded cable for this connection also. Also for improved results, cf1 filter located between pins 5 and 7 of circuit board (ic1 fm if hic) may be replaced with a wider filter. This is the 455 IF filter. *** note This radio requires switched TXaudio. That is during receive the audio for transmitt is switched off. MFJ modems are shipped from factory set up this way. Paccomm modems are designed to have TXaudio on at all times. A simple mod to allow switched audio for Paccomm modems is available. TXaudio ------- Guardando nello schema elettrico del TM441 localizzate il circuito del PLL(x58-3480-00) (b/2). Si trova in alto a sinistra dello schema. Notare che sul lato destro del circuito e' visibile una linea piu' marcata che proviene dal trimmer della deviazione (R 82). E' il primo pin a partire dall'alto dello schema sul lato destro del circuito. Collegare un cavetto schermato a questo pin, lato saldature. Questo e' il punto su cui iniettare il segnale per il modulatore. RXaudio ------- Guardando ancora nello schema elettrico del TM441 localizzate un circuito indicato come (ic1 fm if hic). Nella parte centrale in basso del circuito troverete indicato il Pin #12 (det). Questo e' il punto da cui prelevare il segnale RXaudio. Anche per questo collegamento usate un cavetto schermato. Per un piu' sicuro risultato, il filtro cf1 che si trova tra i pins 5 e 7 del circuito (ic1 fm if hic) deve essere sostituito da un filtro piu' largo. Questo e' il filtro 455 IF. Nota: Questa radio richiede il segnale TXaudio commutato. Cio' vuol dire che durante la ricezione NON deve essere presente anche il segnale da trasmettere. I modems MFJ sono venduti dalla casa gia' predisposti in questo modo. I modems Paccomm sono stati concepiti in modo da avere il segnale TXaudio sempre presente. Comunque per i modems Paccomm e' disponibile una semplice modifica che permette la commutazione audio. Per avere questa informazione potete contattare me oppure il servizio tecnico della Paccomm.
